Hudson Valley Wedding Venues With On-Site Lodging
Where everyone sleeps shapes the weekend more than the flowers do.

One of the biggest decisions in planning a Hudson Valley wedding has nothing to do with flowers, food or music. It is where everyone sleeps.
Many Hudson Valley venues sit outside the major towns. That can be beautiful on the wedding day and complicated at midnight, when 120 guests need to get back to their hotels. That is why venues with on-site lodging are worth considering from the very beginning.
Properties built for the whole weekend
Cedar Lakes Estate in Port Jervis is one of the clearest examples. The property is built around keeping everyone together for the wedding weekend, with cottages, houses, cabins, meals and activities on one estate. Weddings are full property buyouts with a two-night weekend minimum.
Foxfire Mountain House in Mount Tremper also treats the wedding as a weekend retreat rather than a single reception. Couples take over the whole property from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning, and the Catskills setting does a good share of the decorating for you.
Gather Greene in Coxsackie combines cabins with a modern pavilion and outdoor gathering spaces. Its layout lets couples move guests through welcome dinners, ceremonies, receptions and late-night bonfires without turning the weekend into a series of bus rides.
The resort and the private estate
Mohonk Mountain House takes the resort approach. Instead of renting an estate for the weekend, guests stay at an established Victorian mountain resort with dining, recreation, gardens, trails and Lake Mohonk all on the property.
Arrow Park in Monroe offers another option, a private estate with a lake, gardens and event spaces. The mansion also has rooms for the wedding party.
What lodging actually buys you
On-site lodging does not automatically make a venue less expensive. What it can do is make the wedding substantially easier. There are fewer transportation variables, guests spend more time together, and the welcome party and farewell brunch become simpler to organize. Nobody has to figure out how to get from a rural venue to a hotel at 11:30 at night.
For couples inviting a large number of guests from New York City, New Jersey or farther away, that can be a major part of the experience. A Hudson Valley wedding often becomes a destination wedding whether you planned one or not. Choosing a property where people can actually stay lets you embrace that from the start.
